We have no native bumblebees in Australia, but there are feral European Bumblebees in Tasmania. Please help us keep exotic Bumblebees out of mainland Australia! Be on the lookout for Bumblebees described below on the Australian mainland and report any sightings to local authorities!

Bumble Bee

There are sidewalks on two sides and I tell people not to walk with their mouths open as they might inhale a bee. It was a lovely brown-gold color. I saw two of them, but there may have been more in and around the plant. What fun. Also last week, I swear I saw a black and white fuzzy bee chasing a much larger black carpenter bee away from the salvia.

Imagine you are sitting on a nice grassy field having a picnic with a couple of friends. Suddenly you spot a black and yellow flash speeding right toward you. You panic immediately but sit as still as possible. That would be the best thing to do when you see a bee. It is very likely that they wouldn't sting, but some people like to horse around with bees and try to kill them. That is when the trouble starts. The truth is, bumble bees are practically completely harmless.
