The Santa Trap was a pet project for me and I was very particular about how the book developed, which is one of the reasons it took five years to go from conception to publication. A lot of the inspiration for the story came from the Santa traps I built as a child. Like many children I had lain awake on the night of Christmas Eve, determined to catch a glimpse of Santa delivering presents to the foot of my bed, only to fall asleep before he arrived.
