My thirteen-year-old has been taking piano for a few years and is starting to work on hymns! I think each child is different and I like to stay flexible. It feels apparent that Lucas will respond to having a list of 25 hymns to learn: these are hymns that are easier to play and that are frequently in use for church services. They are pretty specific to Lucas, so you may want to change those for your child. They are five songs that I think are essential to serving as a Primary pianist! The challenge songs are just extras.
